FIREARMS ARE OUR PASSION, NOT OUR WORK.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TRAIN AND BE PROFICIENT WITH YOUR FIREARM ?

The following will happen to you in a life threatening situation, it can either work as a disadvantage to the untrained person or as a advantage to the trained person.

Once your brain perceives a threat to life, your body will experience BODY ALARM REACTION. This body alarm reaction will automatically trigger the first four stress factors. Your body does this to physically prepare you for the situation that is coming.

The first stress factor will be ADRENAL DUMP, adrenaline will rush into the body and this will give you a increase in energy.

Next is the FIGHT OR FLIGHT REFLEX, this is that stage where you will decide what to do with all the extra energy from the adrenaline dump.

LOSS OF FINE MOTOR SKILLS then occurs because all the muscles in the body are now preparing for major effort to either fight or fight. “You will not be able to thread a needle at this point of time.

GROSS PHYSICAL STRENGTH increase because the first three stress factors have summoned all your strength and energy. Breathing increases to supply more oxygen to your blood. At this point in time, your entire physical self is now in the best state that it can be.

TUNNEL VISION then occurs next and you will be focused on the main threat ( the brain’s concern)for example, in a high jack situation you would be focused on the firearm.

AUDITORY EXCLUSION also occurs because the brain feels that it is not necessary to take in any auditory information. Your hearing becomes selective, your brain will only take in information that it needs and exclude everything else.

The last factor will be TACHY PSYCHE SYNDROME, it is the most misunderstood stress factor. This is the most important stress factor of them all. The tacky psyche effect is that slow motion or dream like state. Your brain goes into “super mode”, it processes information at a incredibly fast speed and this is the reason why time seems to be standing still.
